Brunch Me

If I was a meal, I’d be brunch.

Brunch is me.

Brunch. Me.

I love going out for with friends for this epic meal, but it’s also a lot of fun to prepare yummy brunch for friends and family. I’m an entertainer at heart, so any chance to get my friends together and feed them, I’m down for.

I went to brunch Saturday and had this pretty amazing meal.

Brunch Me- Le Pain Quotidien

It’s okay, you can wipe your mouth (from drool) this is a safe place. It looks amazing, right? Well, it was delicious as well!

While enjoying this yummy meal with my BFF, it got me thinking about my ideal brunch. Like my DREAM brunch, the event planner in me immediately kicked in. I was mentally making a mood board. Think table settings, invitations, beautiful summer blooms, and homemade blood orange mimosas. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Does anyone else dream about planning the lushest brunches? One of these days it’s going to happen! Until then I’m going to obsessively plan.

Just imagine this…

Brunch Me Decor

I love an outdoor brunch! The height of the  table in addition to the floor pillows and rugs make it a little more laid back.

Fresh flowers are a must. These blooms add a pop of color.

The mismatched plates, marble, and wooden serving plates are eye catching but also add a home-like feel to the decor.

Brunch Me

Endless coffee is a must. I’m a cold brew type of gal.

I love brunch because you can eat, like a lot. Cheese plates pancakes, and bread baskets galore. I want it all.

Blood orange mimosas are life changing. Fresh squeezed is a must! Add some bubbly and you’ve got a refreshing drink. Super easy!

Eggs bakes are great. It makes it look like you were slaving over a hot stove all day, but really you used last night’s leftover roasted veggies, topped it with an egg and baked it for 15 minutes. Leftovers = Major Key

Lastly,  my dream brunch has to include my favorite indulgent little treat…bacon wrapped figs, stuffed with goat cheese. *heart eyes*

While at a tapas restaurant with friends, I tried it for the first time. I was very skeptical, I thought “How does that even work? Bacon, dates and goat cheese. No.” After I tried it I said “How does that even work? Bacon, dates and goat cheese. YES.” Ugh, these things are so good!

I hope this post didn’t make you all too hungry. What does your dream brunch look like? Let me know!

Touch My Face, I Dare You

Normally I don’t like people touching my face, but I’d allow you to touch my face after using When Masks. These masks are the ultimate TLC for your skin. So supple, I die.

As some of you may know, I’ve struggled with acne for a looooong time, like for the past 11 years. I’ve been able to keep it under control recently with medication and tons of water. Since, my skin is so acne prone I’ve very careful of the products I use.

I’m not going to lie to you, I’m a huge face mask junkie. They make my skin look and feel amazing, you can’t go wrong with outcomes like these! When Masks, to no surprise made my favorite masks list. First of all their masks are sheet masks, and I am all about the sheet masks. Secondly, it didn’t feel like I was putting an actual sheet on my face, it did not have the typical fabric texture that most sheet masks do. Their masks are made of bio cellulose instead of fabric or pulp because it’s more effective and eco-friendly. That may be my favorite part about this mask. Thirdly, it smelled amazing, so that’s always a plus.

Their 10pm mask is my favorite. This mask is best when you skin is feeling tired and needs a jolt. I used this mask during finals week…need I say more? Also you do not need to wash your face after using it! After removing the sheet you massage the remaining product into your face and neck, perfect for your inner lazy girl! Let’s be real we all love masks, but what we don’t like is having to get up from relaxing with a mask on to wash our face *rolls eyes*

My face was so soft I couldn’t stop touching it. It’s that good. This stuff is filled with so much love and great stuff for your skin, you just can’t go wrong.

Back at it Again With Another Degree

I graduated on Saturday.

*EXHALE*

This definitely goes down as one of the best feelings I’ve felt, like ever. When I received my undergraduate degree, I never thought I would find myself here. I imagined myself getting my master’s degree immediately after college and living like Lauren Conrad in Ney York. HAH.

Let me explain.

My senior year of college I knew I wanted to continue my education. I found my dream school, so I only applied to that university. I applied in early February, April was approaching and I still hadn’t heard back. Concerned, I did what any normal millennial would do…I tweeted them. I received a reply within seconds and they instructed me to check my junk mail. Always a good sign. In my junk mail, was my REJECTION LETTER. I was devastated. This may seem like a silly thing to be upset about, but to me at the time, it was a big deal. Attending this university was all I had planned. If you know me, I love to have a plan for everything, so the whole not getting into my dream school definitely put a damper on things.

Scared out of my mind about the future, I graduated from undergrad and decided to wait a year before applying to graduate school again. I was basically forced to take a year off, and it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. In the span of one year, I was able to snag two amazing internships in addition to one fellowship; I obtained work experience, traveled and met  wonderful people. I hustled hard for one year. Half-way through I buffed up my resume and applied to grad school, I got my acceptance letter three days letter. THREE DAYS LATER.

Grad school was in no way easy. There were many sleepless nights, where a few tears may have been shed (#thugscry). Nights I was annoyed because I wanted to go out but couldn’t because my thesis wouldn’t write itself. Nights where I was exhausted and my eyes twitched like crazy (just one of the many side effects when I’m sleep deprived). Thankfully, I have the best support system in the world. The end result is a thesis that I am so proud of and a master’s degree. I’ll take it!

It’s hilarious to me when you try to map out our entire life and the universe is life “nope, try again!”

The night before graduation, I was doing some light reading and I decided to read a page in my book of mantras and it said

“The universe has a plan greater than mine”

I actually laughed out loud. I quickly reflected on the past two years and realized nothing had gone the way I planned, It was was way better than I’d planned.  Moral of the story, don’t freak out when things don’t go the way you planned, there are better things around the corner 😉
