My hair and I have a “special” relationship. It’s attached to my head, so we get pretty up close and personal. For many years our relationship was on “thin” ice and “dry” as ever. It was lifeless, due to years of chemical straightening and lack of communication between us. It wanted more moisture, but I wanted to straighten my hair everyday. I did the bare minimum but my hair required quite a bit of love and attention. It got so bad that I basically had to start over. I didn’t go bald or anything, but I got a trim and didn’t put heat in my hair for like a year and put my hair in a lot of protective styles. I deep conditioned frequently, and gave my hair the love it needed. Now we’re bestie’s. I love trying new hair products that’ll moisturize my hair but I’m super precocious because some products just don’t agree with my hair. I was recently sent HASK’s Orchid & White Truffle Collection to review. I’ve been wanting to try HASK products for quite some time so I was really exciting to review their products. I was sent the Orchid & White Truffle moisture rich shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner. Their products are free of sulfates and parabens which is always best. You don’t want to wash your hair with gross chemicals, especially if you wash it everyday. When hair wash day came around I was SO ready. Upon pouring the shampoo in my hand the first thing I noticed was the scent. No lie, this shampoo is the best thing I’ve ever smelled. It lathered up so nicely and really cleansed my scalp. I don’t know if it’s just me, but with certain shampoos, after the first wash my hair feels like it’s been stripped down. I didn’t get that feeling at all! My hair felt nice and velvety after the first wash. The conditioner smells lovely and made my hair feel like butter. By the time I put on the deep conditioner I didn’t think my hair could feel any better, I was wrong. My hair smelled and felt amazing, it was so soft and moisturized. I honestly felt like the shampoo girls in commercials. The products perfumed my hair for days. It was delightful. My mother actually asked me what perfume I was wearing. All in all, I loved the HASK products and would recommend it in a heartbeat! You can find HASK products here and hereThis post is sponsored by HASK. All opinions are my own.
You see, 67 percent of US women are a size 14 or larger.
This fact is especially interesting since this isn’t represented in mainstream media.
The unbalance is kind of horrifying and I’ve known this for a while now. So horrifying that when it came time pick a topic for my master’s thesis I automatically chose this topic. It was relevant, and something no one really wanted to talk about, so naturally I gravitated towards it.
Back to school season is in full swing and to be quite honest I’m feeling a little nostalgic. My favorite thing back in the day (one year ago), was back to school shopping. Fresh, clean notebooks, a brand spankin new agenda and the brightest pens you can find because how else was I going to keep my notes interesting. Those were the days. I was (and still am) that girl who had everything in her bag…snacks, endless pens, hand sanitizer, 2 phone chargers, and on occasion an external hard drive. I played no games. A fear of mine is being unprepared, so I was ALWAYS prepared. In the spirit of school being back in session, I thought I’d share what I always kept in my bag.
Normally I don’t like people touching my face, but I’d allow you to touch my face after using When Masks. These masks are the ultimate TLC for your skin. So supple, I die.
As some of you may know, I’ve struggled with acne for a looooong time, like for the past 11 years. I’ve been able to keep it under control recently with medication and tons of water. Since, my skin is so acne prone I’ve very careful of the products I use.
I’m not going to lie to you, I’m a huge face mask junkie. They make my skin look and feel amazing, you can’t go wrong with outcomes like these! When Masks, to no surprise made my favorite masks list. First of all their masks are sheet masks, and I am all about the sheet masks. Secondly, it didn’t feel like I was putting an actual sheet on my face, it did not have the typical fabric texture that most sheet masks do. Their masks are made of bio cellulose instead of fabric or pulp because it’s more effective and eco-friendly. That may be my favorite part about this mask. Thirdly, it smelled amazing, so that’s always a plus.
Their 10pm mask is my favorite. This mask is best when you skin is feeling tired and needs a jolt. I used this mask during finals week…need I say more? Also you do not need to wash your face after using it! After removing the sheet you massage the remaining product into your face and neck, perfect for your inner lazy girl! Let’s be real we all love masks, but what we don’t like is having to get up from relaxing with a mask on to wash our face *rolls eyes*
My face was so soft I couldn’t stop touching it. It’s that good. This stuff is filled with so much love and great stuff for your skin, you just can’t go wrong.
Have you all tried When Masks? Which one’s are your favorite?

Happy almost Friday! Guys, i’m in heaven right now, the weather has been amazing this week! I think we’re finally done with the snow, and good riddance, it was getting annoying and quite frankly making my life a little difficult.
I like to plan my life/day the night before and let me tell you, it’s time consuming preparing for snow. Putting together a presentable outfit that will keep me warm, contemplating if I should wear snow shoes all day or bring a change of shoes etc. It’s all very…time consuming, and it cuts into my night routine.
I love my night routine and it is not to be messed with! It’s such an amazing feeling stripping the day away and let’s not forgot putting on comfy clothes. YES. I live for this.
So today, I’ll be sharing my super top secret (not really) night routine. It’s truly the bee’s knees.
Please note, I try my best to do this every night BUT life does happen and sometimes I’m gross and fall asleep with my makeup on
Comfy Clothes | The first thing I do when I get home is put on comfy clothes. I’ve suffered all day in real clothes so this is a necessity!
Remove Makeup | Recently I’ve been using the Garnier Cleansing Water to remove my makeup. It’s super gentle and get’s my face squeaky clean.
Wash My Face | My holy grail face wash is Purity by Philosophy. I have never loved something so much. Do yourself a favor and get you a bottle. Remember to always pat dry your face, pulling at your face can cause wrinkles!
Moisturize | I have the driest/oily skin the world! Aka severe combination skin, because of this I am very picky about the products I use to moisturize my skin; it also has to work well with my acne medication. Recently I’ve been using this Valentia Royal Rose Hydrating Serum. This serum is filled with great stuff like vitamin B (helps with hyper pigmentation), lavender (heals pimples and sores), primrose oil (moisturizes in a non oily way), rosehip seed oil (locks in moisture and naturally rich in vitamin C), bearberry (brightens your complexion) and rosa damascena (very moisturizing!). So overall it’s a bomb ass product. Did I mention it smells like roses? This stuff is legit (you can purchase it here and here).
Hydrate | I try drinking a big glass of water, honestly I have trouble hitting my water goal for the day.
Read Up | I love reading self help books before bed! It’s puts me in the best mood and set’s me up for the next day in the best way! These days I only get to read books a few nights a week, the rest of the days I’m reading for classes or editing papers. Super glamorous #gradschool
Lights Out | When my eyes can no longer remain open, I snuggle in bed #burritostyle and drift to sleep.
I hope you all enjoyed this post! Don’t be shy, share your night routine below!
Truthfully Yours, Dahlia

Happy new year ladies and gents! Can you believe that it’s 2016? I don’t mean to sound like a walking cliche, but amazing things are going to happen this year.
Typically when a new year arrives people make these outrageous resolutions that they never follow through with…myself included. This year I didn’t really make any resolutions, 1) I was tired of being upset by February for not following through. 2) I wanted to start the new year without putting so much pressure on myself.
So instead of resolutions, I made small realistic goals. This list of goals is like two pages long, but things are actually getting crossed off. GAME CHANGER.
One of the things on my list was to spend a little time and $$$ on myself, which I have the hardest time doing. I have been dreaming of long mermaid hair, so I walked into my stylist’s salon and she made my dreams come true. I am so in love with my new hair *insert heart eye emoji*
There are so many possibilities with this hair! Braids, waves, curls and freaking ponytails that won’t look like a paintbrush. PRAISE.
